Expanding awareness meditation
Meditation is both a skill, and a practice that can drastically improve the quality of your life. Regular meditators report an increase in focus, awareness, clarity, compassion, and an overall heightened sense of calm.
Through meditation we learn to soothe and exit the overactive sympathetic nervous system - flight, fight freeze. With different techniques we learn to move into a relaxed state which activates the parasympathetic nervous system - relax, digest + renew system. When this system is activated the body stops releasing stress hormones and we are gifted a chance to pause, breathe and relax.
Regular meditators have learned this precious skill of being able to relax the body on demand and are therefore more effective at managing stress and wellbeing.
Here’s the thing - there are literally hundreds of different types of meditation techniques out there. So my goal is to continue to provide different styles, and types of meditations for you all to try.
And i’m sure some of you may currently be thinking:
“What is the best type of meditation?”
Well, put simply, there is none. What works for me, may not work for you. We’re all beautifully individual so I encourage you to explore and find a style that suits and truly serves you.
